Never had a Grammy Awards show been so emotionally charged as this year’s awards. They were handed out last night from Staples Arena in Los Angeles as the death of one of American Music’s greatest music icons, Whitney Houston, was still sending shockwaves through the entire music community.

Bruce Springsteen opened the show to a cheering audience and an emotional video of Whitney Houston singing her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,’” on a past Grammy Awards show.

TAYLOR SWIFT WAS the BIG COUNTRY WINNER FOR THE NIGHT

Taylor Swift picked up two big awards, Grammys for Best Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song for “Mean.” She was also one of the to performers of the night with a big production number with her singing “Mean.”

TAYLOR SWIFT INTROS GLENN CAMPBELL TRIBUTE

The tribute to Glenn Campbell’s career was led off by The Band Perry singing “Gentle On My Mind.”

Blake Shelton followed singing, “Southern Nights,” and then introduced Glenn who sang “Rhinestone Cowboy.” It was great to see Glenn celebrating this moment in the spotlight…especially knowing that due to the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, this may be his last great public performance. He was treated to a huge ovation. Glenn has been given the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award.
